The Indonesian government has launched an e-Visa system for business travelers and investors from selected countries. This will enable them to submit their visa application online and print a visa copy to present upon arrival in Indonesia. This will reduce waiting in border queues and improve the processing time of visa applications at diplomatic missions.
Obtain a passport with at least six months of validity from the date you intend to travel (the last page should be blank). The passport must have one page that is blank and does not contain an entry visa for Indonesia, or an exit visa. Depending on the country you are traveling to, you may need to get your passport valid for that country as well. Apply for a tourist

To apply for a
tourist or business visa in Indonesia, you need to complete an application form
and provide a passport photo. You will also need to attach a computer generated
itinerary from your travel agent or an online booking tool.

ensure you have the correct documentation to meet Indonesian immigration

Show proof of
vaccination
Vaccination is
mandatory for all foreign passengers to Indonesia and is carried out via a
local health program. Those who have not received the full COVID-19
vaccination, or who are exempt from the vaccine for medical reasons, must show
a negative PCR test taken 3x24 hours prior to departure, along with proof of
exemption.
Children aged 6-17
who will be travelling domestically in Indonesia are exempt from the PCR test
but must present proof of a full COVID-19 vaccination course. They will also
need to show a full European Union Digital COVID Certificate.
A nonimmigrant visa
allows you to stay in Indonesia for up to 30 days and can be obtained in person
or online. To obtain a nonimmigrant visa, you need to provide evidence of your
intention to return to the United States. You must also show evidence that you
will not be engaging in any form of employment or business activity during your
visit.
You will need to
include a personal cover letter explaining your purpose for visiting Indonesia.
This should be written in first person and signed and dated by you.
Be aware of changes
in laws and regulations, especially in Aceh and West Papua. The Irish
government urges its citizens to exercise caution if travelling to these
regions, and to consult with local authorities on security issues before
travelling.
